The app

AdStop blocks ads, trackers and annoyances in Safari with Safari's own content blockers, which decide on your Mac without telling AdStop which pages you visit. AdStop has no account and contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting code.

• The blocking log. The AdStop Insights extension records what the blockers stopped (the blocked address, the site it was on, and the time) so AdStop can show you totals and charts. This log stays in AdStop's storage on your Mac, is deleted after 30 days, and can be cleared at any time with Clear Log.
• Cookie banners. To decline cookie banners, AdStop Insights reads the page you are on, on your Mac. Nothing about the page is sent anywhere.
• Video ads on YouTube. AdStop Insights removes the ad entries from YouTube's player data in Safari, on your Mac. It counts the removed ads in the same local log and sends nothing anywhere.
• Updates to the block lists. Once a day, also while AdStop is closed, and when you press ⌘R, AdStop downloads open filter lists from their publishers (see acknowledgements) and its YouTube rules from getadstop.app. These are plain downloads; AdStop sends nothing about you. Like any web request, the servers see your IP address.
• Other apps. If you turn on blocking in other apps, a network filter on your Mac checks connections against the block lists. It decides on your Mac and records only what it blocked, in the same local log.
• On the App Store, AdStop's privacy label reads Data Not Collected.

This website

getadstop.app is a static site without cookies, tracking or third-party scripts. Our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser) for up to 14 days to keep the site running and secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes these requests on our behalf.

If you write to us, we use your message and address only to answer you and delete them when they are no longer needed.
